ELANOR RUTH GUMP COLBURN STILL LIFE JUG AND FRUIT SIGNED Elanor Ruth Gump Colburn 1866-1939. California Artist. Born in Dayton, Ohio, Elanor Colburn became an early 20th century impressionist painter of California figure work, most especially mothers and children. She studies with William Merritt Chos and Frank Deweneck and attended the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1924 she and her daughter, Ruth Peabody moved to Laguna Beach, California and built a studio. They lived, painted and taught in this area. Painting is newly framed and is 31 inches tallx 26.5 inches wide. Beautiful condition.
